Legendary character actor, Karl Malden, was born Mladen George Sekulovich on Mar 22, 1912 in Chicago, IL. Malden died at the age of 97 on Jul 1, 2009 in Brentwood, Los Angeles and was laid to rest in Westwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA.

MINI BIO:

Plum-nosed, rasp-voiced, distinctive and likeable American actor whose receding dark hair was sometimes in latter years covered by a toupee. Used in supporting roles by Fox in their realist thrillers of the late 1940s, but in a variety of leading roles after an Academy Award (best supporting actor) for A Streetcar Named Desire. From 1972 to 1977 he became entrenched in a very popular TV crime series The Streets of San Francisco. Additional Oscar nomination for On the Waterfront. Of Yugoslav parentage, he was president of the U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from 1989 to 1993.

The Maldens'married in 1938 and stayed married until his death in 2009, making theirs the third longest marriage in Hollywood history surpassing the 69 years of Bob Hope and Dolores Hope (1934 until his death in 2003) and just behind Norman Lloyd and Peggy Lloyd, who were married in 1936 and Art Linkletter and Lois Foerster (married 1935-2010) who hold the record with 74 years.
