Adapted from a Broadway play that originally opened Feb. 7, 1927 at the Bijou Theatre and ran for 24 performances.
Even though it is for only a few seconds, we hear Rita Hayworth sing with her own voice. This is believed to be the only time in a film when this happens.
"The Screen Guild Theater" broadcast a 30 minute radio adaptation of the movie on October 5, 1941 with James Cagney, Olivia de Havilland and Jack Carson reprising their film roles.
"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie onMarch 23, 1942 with Rita Hayworth reprising her film role.
