"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie onMarch 21, 1938 with George Arliss reprising his film role.
Previously, George Arliss had starred in the play and in the 1922 silent version of the play.
Although George Arliss is credited by that name in the cast list, he is also credited as 'Mr. George Arliss' above the title.
This was the first movie Bette Davis made under her contract to Warner Bros., the studio under which she did most of her best known work of the 1930s and '40s. Her earlier six films were made for Universal, who let her go after one year of lackluster performances.
George Arliss and Ivan F. Simpson played the same roles ten years earlier in the 1922 silent version.
