Warner Oland's first appearance as Charlie Chan.
Although the U.S. version is regarded as a lost film, the version performed by the Spanish language cast still survives.
Following a Fox studio fire in 1937, no prints of this film are known to exist.
The character of Inspector Hayley (played by Lumsden Hare) is referred to in some studio records as Inspector Hanley. Records indicated, however, that it was Hayley in the final film.
The film in currently unavailable for viewing, but a script survives. It bears the date 23 December, 1930.
