The Hollywood Matador Facts
One of the posters outside the bullring says, "For Whom the Bulls Toil," a reference to Ernest Hemingway's 1940 novel, "For Whom the Bell Tolls." The title, in turn, comes from a line of prose by John Donne.

The sign over the bullring entrance reads: "Thru these portals pass the most beautiful bulls in the world." The sign is spoof of a similar message over the doors of the Earl Carroll Theatre. There were two theaters by that name: one in New York City and one in Hollywood. Both had the same sign: "Through these portals pass the most beautiful girls in the world."

The first Woody Woodpecker cartoon to use Ben Hardaway as the voice of Woody instead of Mel Blanc, although a recording of Blanc's "ha-ha-ha-HA-ha" laugh was used in this and all following Woody cartoons until 1949.
