The Gay Deception (1935) was a Comedy - Romance Film directed by William Wyler and produced by Jesse L. Lasky.

SYNOPSIS

A romantic comedy about a prince who masquerades as a bellhop at the Waldorf Plaza Hotel. Confusion and romance ensue when he meets a stenographer pretending to be rich after winning $5,000 in a lottery. An early Wyler effort.

A song entitled "Paris in the Evening" with music by Ted Snyder and lyrics by Preston Sturges was to be sung by Francis Lederer, but was dropped.
