The Bigamist Overview:

The Bigamist (1953) was a Drama - Black-and-white Film directed by Ida Lupino and produced by Collier Young and Robert Eggenweiler.

SYNOPSIS

A salesman marries a wealthy woman (Fontaine) from a blue-blooded L.A. family and a street-smart waitress in a San Francisco Chinese restaurant. Driven to this agonizing extreme more by his big heart than lust, the bigamist strains to keep his double life a secret from the women he truly loves. Curiously nonjudgmental, particularly as it's directed by a woman, Lupino (it's also the only production in which she directed herself).

The Bigamist Facts
During the tour of the Hollywood stars, the driver points out the home of Edmund Gwenn, the star of Miracle on 34th Street. Gwenn is in fact also in the film, playing Mr Jordan.
During the tour of the movie star homes, the houses the driver says belong to Jack Benny and Jimmy Stewart are their actual homes on Roxbury Drive.
This would be the last feature film directed by Ida Lupino for more than 12 years until The Trouble with Angels.
