The Big Steal (1949) was a Comedy - Film Noir Film directed by Don Siegel and produced by Jack J. Gross and Sid Rogell.
SYNOPSIS
Early effort by action master Siegel - he would later helm Dirty Harry pictures - features terrific pairing of noir pin-ups Mitchum and Greer. A three-way chase through Mexico ensues after an army payroll is heisted. Tense, atmospheric: not for nothing is Siegel hailed by the French auteurists.
