SYNOPSIS
The music's the thing in this glossy life of Benny Goodman - and the swinging clarinet great himself supplied the sounds. The story follows Goodman from his modest upbringing in Chicago through romance and marriage to his historic concert at Carnegie Hall. Jazz buff Allen has just the right bookish kind of hep, and Harry James and Gene Krupa are among the musical cameos.
