This was the first in a series of Boston Blackie films starringChester Morris and was sufficiently popular to spawn 13 more hour-long pictures.
Richard Lane's character name is spelled Faraday in this film; in all subsequent films it is spelled Farraday.
A Hollywood Reporter production chart listed George E. Stone as a cast member, but he was not seen in the film. Stone replaced Charles Wagenheim as "The Runt" in later films in the series.
