Unlike the Nelson Eddy-Jeanette MacDonald film (Maytime), this version of "Maytime" uses the plot and characters of the original stage production.

A complete copy of this film has been found in a New Zealand film archive.

The original Broadway production of "Maytime" opened on August 16, 1917 at the Shubert Theater in New York City and ran for 492 performances closing on October 19, 1918. The play was written by Rida Johnson Young, music by Sigmund Romberg and lyrics by Rida Johnson Young.
