I Was a Male War Bride (1949) was a Comedy - Romance Film directed by Howard Hawks and produced by Sol C. Siegel.

SYNOPSIS

Hawks finds timeless comedy in the confusion of postwar Europe, and provides one of Grant's funniest moments (in a cross-dressing sequence that rivals Bringing Up Baby's dressing gown scene). French officer Grant meets his true love in WAC Sheridan, and they make their plans for a home in the U.S. The only hitch? Bureaucratic logic dictates that war brides may be shipped back to the States - but where does that leave Grant?
