Captain Carey, U.S.A. (1950) was a Drama - War Film directed by Mitchell Leisen and produced by Richard Maibaum.
SYNOPSIS
When Captain Webster Carey, O.S.S., sees a painting formerly hidden in his Milan hideout in the window of a New York art gallery, he thinks he has found the trail of the traitor who betrayed him and his espionage comrades during WWII. The hideout was known only to his O.S.S. partners and his Italian lover, Giulia, all killed in the war, leading him to conclude that the traitor must have smuggled the painting overseas. Traveling back to Italy, he learns that Giulia is still alive and married to a dark-looking local, and, after suspecting them both of betraying him, discovers the true identity of the culprit.
