SYNOPSIS
Tracy is superb in this Western drama of an autocratic patriarch and the strife and betrayal among his sons that threatens his cattle empire. The story unfolds as one son (Wagner) returns from prison after taking responsibility for a raid led by his father. A showdown with his brother (Widmark) over the circumstances of their father's death leads to another death and the restoration of the father's legacy.
