Theodore Bikel's film debut.
The Venus of this film's title refers not to a Roman God from Latin mythology nor to a planet but to a prize pedigree cow which is sought by the British military during World War II because of its excellent breeding, and they don't want the Nazis to get her.
The first film of Terence Longdon.
This film was renamed Island Rescue for its theatrical release in the USA.
The fictitious island of Armorel in the film may possible be based on the island of Sark, a small island in the south-western region of the English Channel. One of the Channel Islands, it was one of the locations where this movie was filmed.
