Anne of the Indies Overview:

Anne of the Indies (1951) was a Action - Adventure Film directed by Jacques Tourneur and produced by George Jessel.

SYNOPSIS

A swashbuckling adventure in which Jourdan portrays Pierre Francois LaRochelle, a former pirate captain who has been caught by the British (they have also abducted his wife and ship). In order to get them back, he agrees to work as a spy against other pirates, namely the infamous Blackbeard and Captain Providence. When he happens upon their ship, he discovers, rather shockingly, that Providence is a beautiful woman. She believes his charade that he's an enemy of the British, although Blackbeard isn't quite so sure. But when she begins to fall for LaRochelle and he leads her into a trap set by the British, she escapes and kidnaps his wife for revenge. In desperation, he manages to reacquire his ship and attempts to track her down before she can sell his wife on the slave market.
