Appeared in a number of Hoot Gibson's silent westerns of the 1920s.


Began his career in silent pictures as a teenager.


Character player who usually played tough guys, blue-collar workers and/or gangsters.


Following high school he earned some stage experience with a stock show at Burbank theatre in Los Angeles.


Not to be confused with a British character actor Harold Goodwin (1917-2004) with the exact same name and appeared in "Bridge on the River Kwai".


Parents were non-professionals Lee Willis Goodwin and Maude Lyons.


Played a foil to Buster Keaton in several of his classic shorts and feature films, including College (1927) and The Cameraman (1928). He went on to be a regular in Keaton's comic showcases on TV during the early 1950s.


Started in silent films as a youth.


When British actor Harold Goodwin gained notice in the 1950s, the American Harold changed the spelling of his first name to Herold to avoid confusion.
